Federal and Provincial TD1 forms
The TD1 form is used to make adjustments beyond the basic claim amount. Some scenarios that would require an employee to complete a TD1 are:
- employee is entitled to additional claim amounts
- employee has more than one employer
- employee would like additional taxes taken
If an employee's taxes are being calculated using anything other than the basic amount they should be reminded at the end of each year to complete a new form for the following year.
CRA has provided an online tool to help complete the TD1. The online tool and downloadable copies of the form can be found on the CRA site.
